SHELBY DEITRICK SUMMER CAMP BENEFIT
VFW, Royersford, PA April 25, 2009
Shelby is a 13-year-old girl with cerebral palsy who attends Spring Ford 7th Grade Center, Royersford, PA. She enjoys talking to friends on her cell phone and hanging out with friends.
Cerebral Palsy is a non-progressive, non-contagious condition that causes physical disability. It is characterized by abnormal muscle tone, posture, reflexes, or motor development and coordination. There can be joint and bone deformities and permanently fixed, tight muscles and joints. Because of the joint and muscular problems, Shelby is pretty much confined to a wheel chair.
The Easter Seals Camp provides all different activities for disabled children and adults. Activities range from arts and crafts to therapeutic recreational activities. The camp lasts for 5 weeks in the summer. The cost is very high due to the special needs and because transportation is provided for all.
Generous donations from businesses like yours, for our basket auction, will help make it possible for Shelby to attend camp and benefit from all it offers.
Donations can be made by mailing to Shelby Deitrick Summer Camp Benefit, 3098 Pruss Hill Road, Pottstown, PA 19464 or leaving a message at (484) 433-5560.
